Dolphin e10 filter
Double-check before purchasing
- Exact mesh pore sizes vary by production run — check manufacturer specs if fine filtration is critical for your pool type
Compatibility
The Dolphin E10 uses a cartridge-style filter basket. Two mesh grades are available: standard fine mesh for typical leaf and debris pools, and ultra-fine mesh for pools with algae or fine sand. Both fit the E10 directly.
How to Verify Fit
- Filter basket must be labelled for Dolphin E10 or above-ground Dolphin models
- Basket must latch fully into the top-load panel with no raised edges
- After cleaning, hold basket up to light — visible holes or large gaps mean it needs replacing
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Running the robot without checking the filter first — a full or damaged filter reduces suction and leaves debris uncollected
- Using an M-series filter basket — the E10 is an above-ground model with smaller basket dimensions than M-series in-ground robots
- Hosing the filter out while still inside the robot — remove it first to avoid pushing debris into the chassis
When to Replace
Clean after every 1–2 pool cleaning cycles. Replace when mesh tears or the basket frame cracks — roughly once per swimming season for regular use.
Buying Tips
The fine-mesh filter is the standard choice. If your pool suffers from algae blooms or fine sandy debris, the ultra-fine filter catches more but needs cleaning more frequently. Both are available OEM and from third-party suppliers.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Dolphin E10 filter work?
Water is drawn through the mesh basket as the robot vacuums the pool floor and walls. Debris is trapped inside the basket and clean water exits through the mesh.
Can I run the Dolphin E10 without a filter?
No — running without a filter will pull debris into the pump mechanism and damage the robot.
Does the E10 come with a filter included?
Yes, the E10 ships with a fine-mesh filter basket installed. Replacement and upgrade baskets must be purchased separately.
